Charged with pioneering passion, Farook Merchant quit his steady job to work on developing a prototype PLC in a garage.

1984
A labour of love
Messung launched Meprolog-H*, India's first indigenous 1-bit processor-based PLC. It revolutionised the industry, replacing the traditional relay contactor logic.
The first one was installed at Kirloskar Oil Engines, Pune.
*Since May 2012, the IP rights of this product are owned by Mitsubishi Electric.

AWARDED FOR DESIGN
Meprolog-H* won the G.S. Parkhe Award and FIE Foundation Award for Best Product Design.
1988
National recognition
Farook Merchant's achievements were honoured with the National Award for Outstanding Entrepreneur for Small Scale Industries.
1989
Innovation Continues
Messung launched XMP8-40*, the first 8-bit microprocessor-based PLC which went on to achieve 6000 installations.
Notable among them: Kalyani Steel, HAL's MIG aircraft testing equipment and Telco's heat treatment plant.
